Prasoon Joshi named Chairman of Omnicom Advertising India as new structure takes shape
Omnicom has confirmed its post-merger leadership structure in India elevating Prasoon Joshi to Chairman, Omnicom Advertising India. Joshi (pictured above) was previously CEO & CCO of McCann India and Chairman of McCann Asia Pacific. He will partner with Aditya Kanthy, newly named President & Managing Director, who reports directly to Sean Donovan, President of Omnicom Advertising Asia.
Joshi and Kanthy will set the India mandate for Omnicom Advertising, supported by S. Subramanyeswar (Subbu) in a dual role as Chief Strategy Officer, India and Chief Knowledge Officer, Asia.
The group will now operate through three global networks – TBWA, BBDO and McCann and will be backed by the Indian equities of Lintas, Ulka and Mudra. The global merger sees the retirement of agency brands DDB, FCB and MullenLowe.
The group has also confirmed a series of agency leadership appointments. Josy Paul (pictured below middle) continues as Chairman of BBDO India, with an updated leadership team still to be announced.
Dheeraj Sinha as CEO and Rahul Mathew (pictured below left) as CCO will lead McCann in India. Sinha was formally CEO of FCB and Mathew was previously CCO at DDB Mudra Group India. At TBWA, Govind Pandey and Prateek Bhardwaj (pictured below right) have been named joint leaders of the merged operation. Pandey was already CEO at TBWA and Bhardwaj held the Lowe Lintas India CCO role.
On the digital front, Chandni Shah steps in as CEO of the unified Kinnect and 22feet Tribal unit and Rohan Mehta takes on responsibility for digital integration and capability development across the group.
